Location
Duke's Farm, Hillsborough, NJ.Time
Early morning, around 8:30ish.Lighting
It was cloudy on this morning but was bright enough that I could set the aperture to f22 to make the most of the crazy branches of this tree.Equipment
Canon 5D Mark ii, 16-35mm L lens. A tripod of some kind, don't remember the brand only that it had a gimpy leg that would fold up on me at the worst times.Inspiration
The crazy undulating branches of this tree, which made me think of doctor octopus from Spiderman Comics. I thought, if that isn't going to make for a good and interesting photo, nothing will!Editing
Color curves, high pass filter. I don't think I did much else than that.In my camera bag
Not much believe it or not. Batteries for the camera and flash as well as a cloth and lens pen. Various filters.Feedback
Look for unusual, interesting things and compose the photo to include them. This bench would have been pretty uninteresting had the crazy branches of the tree not been included. Wind would have stirred up the leaves on the ground and made it not difficult to take the shot. I prefer morning to shoot but evening would have worked as well as long as the wind was still. Don't be afraid to be different, some of my best photos are from shots I took and not thought much about them until I saw them on my PC. As long as it is composed properly and looks good, anything can be interesting!
