Location
This particular image was taken at a horse boarding facility in Southern Ohio. This is the facility owners stallion whom she had owned countless years, given his uncut state he was stalled while the mares were in the paddock, allowing for me to create this natural light indoor shot.Time
This was taken later in the afternoon around 5 pm.Lighting
I love working with natural light, even if it is limited which in this case it was limited coming only from the window in the Stallions stall. I did not use any other lighting in the creation of this image.Equipment
I used a canon rebel t3i paired with a tamron 24-75 mm f/2.8 lens.Inspiration
I was working on creating a collection of equine portraiture as a personal project and this was one of many images created. I happened to know the own and several clients of the boarding facility who graciously allowed me access to their equines.Editing
I made minor contrast corrections, and a minor crop otherwise the photo is as shot.In my camera bag
My bag is constantly changing given the nature of shoots I am on. Commercial shoots are different that photographing a rodeo for me. I am never without bare minimum two camera bodies, portrait lens, as well as a few high speed action lens which have proved invaluable on several occasions when I didn't think I'd need them and have.Feedback
Go out and shoot constantly. Try new things. Make friends, and build connections so you have access to what you are wanting to shoot.
