Congratulations! What an adorable furkid...and to have taken such an awesome shot, without the little one looking over at you! Perfect..

Thank You! :) I was pretty luck he didn't look at me, unfortunately I never get that lucky anymore, though in fairness I do torture him with a camera fairly regularly.

Location
I took this image Walkersville, WV, during a horsing event.Time
It was taken around 10 a.m. with the pup actually having crawled under a baby mesh playpen for some shade.Lighting
There was no unique lighting for this image.Equipment
I used a Canon T3i, paired with a Tamron 24-75 mm f2.8 lens, no flash, and handheld utilizing the cameras swivel LCD screen and live view to capture the composition in an appealing way.Inspiration
The pup in the image belongs to me, like most pet people you can never have too many pictures of your fur babies. My pet, Accio Phoenix, is a compelling subject, with beautiful blue eyes, a partially bald face and sliver fur.... images of him now decorate my house, so I am just mildly obsessed.Editing
I did minor work in post process, a crop, vibrancy enhancement and conversion to JPEG.In my camera bag
Normally in my go-bag for horsing events I carry my 24-75mm Tamron lens, a 50mm prime lens (really great shooting indoor locations and taking cool action photos as the horses run right at you), 18-55 mm lens and sometimes a longer zoom though traditionally zoom lens used to their full extent are not my primary and rarely used. Also external flashes, battery packs, as well as lens filters.Feedback
Photography is the art of seeing. Always be looking for a moment, art, beauty and trust yourself to capture it. This image was just seeing the beauty of the moment, the adorableness of my pup and wanting to hold onto it forever and that is the power we have as photographers.
