Wow, you know I'm about to reveal a semi secret camping and fishing spot! This message might self destruct! I made this image on beautiful Kauri Creek, Queensland Australia, with the help of the resident pelicans.Time
I'm an early bird, I get early almost every day. This was my last day beside the water for 10 days, I had to go back to work while my partner got to stay and fish and boat around. I couldn't go very far so I was sitting on the shore hoping something would come to me. And what do you know at 8am the pelicans did!Lighting
The lighting was provided compliments of the sun filter through a cloudy layer.Equipment
I'm so glad you asked. I used my brand new Canon 7D mkII with a Canon 400mm 5.6L prime lens mounted on Manfrotto 190X tripod.Inspiration
My inspiration is all around me everyday, no matter where I am. I love to capture the beauty of our world, small things, big things and everything in between.Editing
Yes, I only shoot RAW images so I have as much detail as I can get to work with later. This is a single exposure that has been edited in PS using layer masks to adjust levels in selected areas plus a bit of dodging and burning. In my camera bag
I'm not known for traveling light most of the time, and try to have as much as I can with me just in case. My main bag has my Canon 7D mkII on a BlackRapid Kick strap. Lenses - Canon EF 16-35mm 2.8L II, Canon macro EF 100mm 2.8, Canon EF 50mm 1.8 II, Canon EF 400mm 5.6 and a Samyang 8mm 3.5 fish-eye CS II. Miscellaneous bits - batteries, memory cards, air rocket, lens cleaning kit and several pieces of black card.Feedback
My best advice is to do what you love, have lots of patience, know your equipment and be prepared for anything, including coming back on another day.
