I just love the look of wisdom on this beautiful woman's face. She looks to be back lit pretty good also. Of coarse the B&W adds that special look of drama. Nice shot.

Location
The photo was taken in St Mary's Place, Market Harborough, Leicestershire. I had found an interesting alley the week before and had returned to it to try and get a better shot this week.Time
It was taken in the morning, approximately between 9am and 11am.Lighting
All natural light, I rarely use flash for portraiture because I don't have the equipment or the experience but as my photography improves, it may be something I try more and more.Equipment
Camera: Canon EOS 450D Lens: Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II Shutter speed: 1/250s Aperture: F/2.5 ISO (of film used): 200 ReflectorInspiration
For the last three years, I have taken part in the 100 Strangers Project on Flickr and have asked somewhere between two hundred and five hundred strangers (220 people in my collection so far) However I had only recently started asking people for their photo using a reflector. Milly's photo was taken in my second week of using it. Having taken Amy's the week before, I returned to try and get someone with blonde or red hair but no-one suitable came past or agreed to having their photo taken, so when Milly wandered past looking kind of cool with her long dark hair, I asked her to try and improve on my last successEditing
It was tempting to remove the three air vents on the left hand side but I resisted and left them in. Milly's face will have been tided up slightly and in this case, I removed some stray hairs on the right hand side of her head. Then just tweaked the contrast just a bit.In my camera bag
Not much, camera, 50mm lens and a notepad with your contact details written down on it so the subject can contact you for their photo. I have recently started carrying a reflector and have now got over the stigma of asking a complete stranger for their photo and then whipping out a reflector...!Feedback
Narrow alleyways with plenty of light really work but also at the end of a long street can work too, somewhere where the light is good but the background is dark and trails off into the distance. In this case, the urban bricks which I would normally shy away from, make the shot...
