Thanks again everyone for the kind words and comments. It's been an overwhelming couple of days. I'll be checking out everyone's ports as time permits, still so behind on adding new stuff to mine too, but so inspired now. THANK-YOU ALL!

Love the contrast. The fresh snow and the old car. The short life of snow, the almost never ending life of the car. The beautiful sky is an added delight.

Beautiful image, I can almost hear the crunch of the fresh snow as I walk around the scene. The curve of the horizon just works so well. Really stunning image that anyone would love to have taken, well done

Location
Found this old Lincoln in a field junkyard in Central Alberta, Canada.Time
This was around 9-10 am. Being winter, the sun rises later so the light was still fairly low.Lighting
Nothing extra special. Low late morning light behind the subject and semi obstructed by cloud cover.Equipment
Nikon D200 on a tripod. Pretty sure I was using my 18-70 kit lens as well.Inspiration
I'm always on the lookout for old cars and houses. Saw this from the road and ended up spending a good hour with many old junkers. The light and cloud direction was an added bonus.Editing
Five bracketed shots blended in Photomatix to bring out detail in the shadows. A little contrast adjustment afterward in Photoshop. In my camera bag
Now I have a D800 (D200 is in a separate bag for a backup) Nikon 14-24mm 2.8 Nikon 24-70mm 2.8 Nikon 50mm 1.4 Nikon 85mm 1.8 Tamron 70-200 Manfrotto Tripod I also carry with me a few Yonguo 560 II flashes, stands and triggers for other types of work.Feedback
Wander and Explore! Get out there and look around. Try and find/ask permission to go on people's property and always leave no trace. These types of shots are literally sitting there waiting for you. If facing the sun like this shot I recommend bracketing and utilizing HDR software to counter the harsh shadows and bring out detail. Shoot RAW!
