Location
I literally pulled over to the side of a road in Montana right by a small town. This field was full of elk and there were about 10 other people pulled over snapping pics with phones, cameras, etc..Time
Sometime in the afternoon I think? Can't remember!Lighting
The light was great because the sky with over cast with dramatic clouds, but still letting enough sunlight through to make the shot work.Equipment
A 70-200 lens and Canon 5dMkIIInspiration
If you see a field full of elk in a field with snow covered fall Tamarack behind them, you pull over and take the picture! ha ha.Editing
Very little. Just my standard touch up in lighroom. This looks like the scene looked to the eye.In my camera bag
Canon DLSR camera lineup, 24-70 Tamron 2.8, 70-200 Canon 2.8, Monfrotto tripod/monopod.Feedback
Be out and about when you think the animals will. This was a surprise. I wasn't even out to take photos, but luckily had my camera. Always try to have your camera on any long drives!
