Thank you so much everyone!!! It's very much appreciated!!! This is a baby hummingbird born this year. I call her my Little Gray Lady. She is very curious and often comes over to watch me. I got this shot in the split second she showed up to check out what was going on. :-)

Location
At my lake house located upstate New York in the Catskill Mountains. Hummingbirds migrate all the way up there around April and return to the south around September. Amazing!Time
It was around 4:00 pm.Lighting
The sun was starting to make its way down but this was taken right outside my gazebo so I still had enough natural light.Equipment
In spite of having several SLR's I only had my little point and shoot handy when my little friend came over to say hello. I used my Canon PowerShot SX 260 HS and got lucky! I never had luck using a tripod or monopod while capturing hummingbirds.Inspiration
This little hummingbird was born in 2012 and always comes to visit me. I put out the feeder and she comes every 20 minutes or so. I wanted to get a shot other than the usual side photos with flowers. I wanted to capture her as she came over to check me out.Editing
No post-processing but you might have to crop photos of hummingbirds taken while panning to get them centered better. In my camera bag
I change equipment every couple of years of so. At the present time I have a Fuji X-T2 with several lenses and I also carry my Canon G7X Mark II always. You would be surprised at the great photos you can get with a point and shoot! Never leave home without a camera!Feedback
Hummingbirds are delightful! I would recommend putting out a simple feeder and then do your darndest to keep up with these lightening fast creatures! It takes practice so initially I would just watch them. Animals tend to repeat their actions so get a sense of how and where they move and then plan accordingly with your lens at the ready. Hummingbirds tend to lift off the feeder when they hear the camera clicking. Try locking focus on them at the feeder and then raising the camera up for when they lift up and hover. Good luck!
