Breathtaking, amazing composite work! Would definitely mount this in a small intimate setting room on either canvas or in a glass block.

Location
Snow Canyon State Park is a state park of Utah, USA, featuring a canyon carved from the red and white Navajo sandstone in the Red Mountains. The park is located near Ivins, Utah and St. George in Washington CountyTime
This was just after midnight on the second Blood moon of the tetrad. Every once in a while, however, 4 total lunar eclipses happen in a row. This rare occurrence is called a lunar tetrad. The eclipses in a tetrad occur 6 months apart with at least 6 full Moons between themLighting
I was setup for a long exposure and a much shorter exposure (Composite shot) This is why you see the light pollution from the nearby city of St George and a clean shot of the moon separately. Camera: Canon EOS 7D Canon 70-200mm Aperture: f/2.8 ISO: 100 Shutter Speed: 20/1Equipment
Basic setup Camera Tripod and shutter release.Inspiration
In all honesty I was helping a young photographer take pictures of the moon and captured this as a lesson in different exposure times as we discussed the light pollution and how it effected the picture. It wasn't until I began my workflow and selection process from the pictures that I decided that I liked the uniqueness of the shots and decided to compose them into this pictureEditing
Yes, this is a composite of two different shots from the same evening. Two separate pictures with different exposure times. Like I said earlier I was trying to explain the differences in the how and why we would use longer or shorter exposures. This picture is an example of two completely different exposures times and aperture settings.. I also may have added some embellishment in the stars to to make mars more prominent (Just Right of the moon). In my camera bag
Typical setup multiple lenses, cleaning supplies, filters, mounts, extra batteries, remote shutter release and my Cameras of course. I usually take one of two Camera bodies I think at the time of this shot it was a 7d and rebel I have since upgraded from the rebel.Feedback
Imagination, creativity and the enjoyment of the art. I find that photography is a way to show others how you see things, to open their eyes to a new perspectives and ways to to look at their world in a different light. . . Most importantly Shoot what makes you happy, learn from your mistakes and have fun!
