A special thanks to our friend and professional photographer Nicholas Pappagallo for his collaboration as a guest judge. For Nicholas, noticing the small treasures in life has really helped him fine tune his skills. Eventually, his passion for photography expanded & he formed PAC (Photographers Adventure Club llc), the biggest and most active photography club. Being surrounded by many gifted photographers has given Nicholas the unique opportunity to broaden his own talents into a variety of different categories. When he isn't behind the camera shooting events, weddings or portraits he is teaching other photographers basic photography skills, Lightroom editing & how to take their own skills to the next level.
"I really enjoyed this image, the composition was excellent, and the image has it all. My eye starts in the foreground, near the snow and travels up to the Aurora, then back down to the city lights and around the rest of the image. It is a stunning image. The other thing I love is the sharpness of the stars, they are pinpoint and that is not only knowing the settings but all the limitations of the gear you own. "The milky way is looked upon around the globe and photographed many times, this image connects us with all the details and stunning colors that are not often seen. I love the selected location, it is not only beautiful but adding the human element shows the scale of how huge the rocks and cliffs are. The silhouette reaching for that one bright star is a great touch to this image that set it apart for me from other images.
