Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in a studio in San Leandro Ca.

Time

Shoot was between 10am-2pm, this picture was taken about 1pm

Lighting

I love bodyscape lighting! In this case we used one light from above to project the shadows across her body.

Equipment

Sony camera, 24-105mm lens, remote flashes controlled with a Pocket Wizard.

Inspiration

I wanted to get the beautiful shadows showing and her ability to move. We tried about a hundred times and most were good, this was the best however.

Editing

Post processing including a little cleanup of junk on the floor and edges, adding structure to her body to show bones and shadows better, and a simple texture layer made from a dryer sheet (used to help keep clothes soft when drying them). I think that is my favorite texture.

In my camera bag

I generally don't use a bag. I have a camera strap with pockets for an extra battery and SD cards.

Feedback

Work with your model. Talk over what you are trying to do. Get her/his inputs. Try again to improve things. Go for quality, not quantity.
