Being yourself is the absolute perfect photo to top out in Any contest of this category! I have always taught my children to be Responsible and Free in the way they process their lives! Being a Follower on an App is one thing, don’t be a cookie cutter version of another...be you..be unique!

Location
Taken at Kuranda Photography studio where I teach photography to local job seekers as a community development program.Time
Studio shoot in the afternoon.Lighting
Strobe lighting with soft boxes, one set high to the right hand side which was the key light, the other to the left down low behind me to just fill some shadows.Equipment
Taken with Canon 5DSr, 50mm f/1.2 lens, hand heldInspiration
This was a lucky capture to be honest, we were doing a shoot for Kaya ( the man in photo ) who makes jewelry and he and some others were modeling his wares for promotion images. His wife Tamsin was also modeling and they had their little boy in the studio. At one point the boy was restless so Kaya picked him up to comfort him so I asked him to stand in the spot we were set up for and started shooting some frames. It wasn't planned it just happened, when I downloaded the images this one just leapt out at me.Editing
Edited in PS Camera Raw, some dodge and burn, added some clarity and contrast and warmed the tones, cropped to square format. In my camera bag
It varies depending on if im travelling or on a day shoot. I'm a believer that whatever you dont take the odds are you'll end up needing it so I take as much as I can usually ! My main kit is my 5DSr which im in love with, all my lenses are Canon, 28-300 is my favourite all rounder although its not fast and heavy, 100-400 for wildlife, 50 mm and 85mm primes f/1.2 for portraits, a flash for fill if needed, a small reflector, and ND filters. A small but sturdy tripod if I know I'll need one.Feedback
All thats required for an image similar to this is interesting subjects who you can make feel relaxed, the images will come when there is a relaxed atmoshere.
