Behind The Lens
Location
The shoot was taken in Langenthal, a small city in Switzerland.Time
The photo was made at about 19:30.Lighting
I let the model walk down the street and behind her the setting sun. So we had almost perfect lighting conditions for a picture with dramatic sunset (after some post-processing).Equipment
For this shot I used my beloved combination of Nikon D850 with the Sigma Art 85mm Portrait Lens. No other gear (such as reflectors, flashes etc.) were used.Inspiration
The idea was to make some sexy portrait and fashion style shoots with dramatic light. I think, we did it.Editing
Here I optimized the light of the picture with the goal to have a nice sunset light behind the model. And always in my portrait pictures a classic beauty retouching has been done. The post-processing needs some experience of course ;-)In my camera bag
For my portrait shootings I always use my full format DSLR with a set of (relatively) fast primes: The 50mm, a 85mm and a 150mm or sometimes a 70-200mm as well and the magnificent Sigma 24-35mm f2.0 Art Zoom, if I wish a slightly wider angle.Feedback
Hopefully you have a relaxed model in a good mood. Then choose your shooting location and watch the light during the shoot. Grab your camera set it to manual control and start with a nifty fifty and then nothing stands in the way of photos in this style.
