Congratulations and thanks for entering my challenge. Nothing works better against snow and pine needles than a beautiful red Cardinal.

Behind The Lens
Location
I took this picture in my front yard, where there are many types of Pine and Fir trees. It had lightly snowed the previous night and it was a frosty 29 degrees.Time
It was taken about 12:00 and cloudy, I was on the other side of the tree, squatting on the ground.Lighting
It was difficult getting the lighting the way I wanted and yet I had very little time. I had to use editing to really sharpen some of the scene and a background blur.Equipment
Nikon D series camera I have 5, I dont remember.Inspiration
I love birds and and have quite a few pictyres of them. However, Cardinals are my favorite and every opportunity I get when I see them is wonderful.Editing
I used editing, specifically clarifying, as some of the edges needed fine tuning. None of the coloring was touched but I did work on the exposure. I try not to do alot of heavy editing. In my camera bag
In a small bag I carry my Nikon D7000, a macro lens and an 80-200mm zoom lens. I have many more lenses, but I carry the equipment I find the most useful.Feedback
Dont try to carry more than youre able to. Have your most useful things with you. Take some exposure shots and then take your prime shot.
