Location
We had spent about 45 minutes driving to the top car park at Yosemite to see the view. As we got closer the weather came in and it start te get very cold and the sun was just dropping. The clouds started to roll in and I was able to capture this view. A little while later the rain came down, but I had enough time to capture some great shots of which this was just one.Time
It was about 5:30pm after a day of shooting all day.Lighting
It was being in the right place at the right time. The golden hour just before a change in the weather.Equipment
Nikon D610 will a Tamron 24-300mm lens. The settings were ISO 800 / F-stop 4.8 and exposure of 1/160sec with a focal length of 65mmInspiration
You can't but be inspired in such a location, this was part of a trip around the states and we only had 2 days here. I packed in every hour I had spare. Starting at 5am and finishing just after dark. At the end of the day it comes down to being in the right place at the right time.Editing
Yes, using Lightroom with basic adjustmentsIn my camera bag
When travelling I just have a travel tripod which is a fibreglass and my trusted travel lens. Tamron 24-300mmFeedback
The golden hours at the start and end of the day are just that. The other is to research your location. When time is short you don't want to waste time trying to locate that perfect spot. Many have gone before you and you can find lots of details on line.
