Location
This was taken at "my favorite place" Devils Tower in Wyoming. It's an hour drive from my home.Time
My friend and I were headed out to shoot a meteor shower that night. We were a little early so decided to capture some sunset photos. It was almost 4 pm and the light was softening.Lighting
The sun was setting and the lighting had softened. When the sun sets on the Tower it glows! I just love when this happens. This evening the clouds were low, so the setting sun offered me the glow that I admire.Equipment
I used my Nikon D810 it's my 28-300mm lens. Tripod is a Really Right StuffInspiration
I love when the sunsets on the tower. It gives me inspiration. It's such a calm feeling. What is so nice about this area is there are few people. So you become one with nature.Editing
I did post process this with NIK software. In my camera bag
Nikon D810, lenses Nikon 28-300/16-35/24-70 and a Rokinon 14mm . I occasionally will take my Lee filtersFeedback
Evening sunsets in the late fall have treated me the best. It's nice because the sunset is early and it is still fairly warm. I usually look for clouds in the sky, but we were going to shoot meteors when it darkened, so we hoped for clear skies and were rewarded.
