The best; no halo around edges and just enough visible detail in the dark tones.

Just realised this is the screensaver picture when you switch on your computer. Fantastic shot :)

The lighting and exposure are wonderful. Composition is spot on. My goal in photography is to capture beauty and share it with others. I am inspired by this image.

When I walked in the cave I noticed the last of the suns diffused rays illuminating the ripples on the sand at the entranceEquipment

I have been to this location before and wondered if I could take a different aspect, the weather was set for a big high pressure system. As a bit remote and a walk in, I spent the night on the beach freezing in a dew soaked sleeping bag! took some milky way shots also which was enhanced by electric blue luminescence in the wavesEditing

In the last month I have completely downsized from a large dslr with four large prime lenses, I now have a tiny fixed 35mm lens, 42mp Sony rx1r2, still have set of filters using stop up ring (with cpl a must) and some ND filters, always a sturdy tripod, portable panoramic head (Gobi), remote shutter release, lens cloths. A portable set up which allows for easier access to more remote areas.Feedback
If I am specifically planning a photo shoot, weather is of utmost importance, I like still, high pressure systems, also are we moving to or from rain? (potential red sky in morn or night?) Mornings I find are the best for good photography light, up to two hours after sunrise, and the last hour of the day. Walking around and noticing the light is beneficial, not just focussing on the image you presume is best. Composition is imho paramount to photography, it doesn't matter how amazing the scene is, a balance is necessary and an awesome challenge for nature photographers. I always check carefully all gear is clean and ready. You have to show up, be ready, appreciate the environment and you are 90% there!
