I took this photo in the wooded area of my backyardTime
Taken in the afternoon on a cold day in DecemberLighting
I live in the mountains, and at times the fog or clouds will roll in low, creating a mysterious look to the landscapeEquipment
Olympus OM-D using the special effects settings in the cameras softwareInspiration
My son and I were messing around, and decided to try and create some dramatic photos. I dug around and found a white cape and told him to put it on. With the fog and the camera special effects program, I thought it came out very cool looking....The significance of this photo was that during this time every year we usually have snow, but it came later. The story behind this shot is "Winter Leaving" but unfortunately about 2 weeks later we got our snow storms... I wanted the viewer to have to take a second glance at this shot and for it to create more questions than answers...Editing
No photo shop or anything else was used except the special effects setting in the cameras programIn my camera bag
The Canon 70-D is probably my favorite camera, and I always take it with me wherever I go, But I have the Olympus, and Nikon as well, and at times I will use them for a time, but always seem to return back to my CanonFeedback
My advice for someone else trying to create a similar shot would be to just get out there and experiment because you will never what you can do, and if it's not the desired effect you want, then try it again and again......you will surprise yourself
