The original dahlia photo was taken in my sweethearts garden in Rochester NYTime
It was taken in the late afternoonLighting
The lighting on the original photo was special and brought out very nice tones on the different petals of the flower and that was one of the things that I made sure to enhance in post processingEquipment
Kodak EZ Share Z885 with a macro flower settingInspiration
One of my favorite things to photograph is flowers and this type of dahlia has a great shape and is very symmetricalEditing
Yes I did not need to do much to get this effect. I used Roxio Photosuite and changed to color to blue with various hues (cool color) choice and used the special settings swirl option to get the "blender" effectIn my camera bag

I love using various photo editing software to create artistic photos like the one you see. There are many easy to use free options and ones you can buy. If you see something you like here on ViewBug see if you can find an option that will help you create that effect. I am guessing that some of the members here may even be willing to give you tips on what is available to get the effects that you want to try. Don't be afraid to try new things, the possibilities are endless and it is amazing what you can create once you do!
