Exactly the kind of photo that I like. No blood but shivers running through your back... It's got a story to it. Nice shot.

Location
We are staying in temporary accommodation while we renovate our our house in France. This was taken in the neighbours driveway which leads up towards some farm buildings.Time
It was taken just after dark on Christmas EveLighting
I had been waiting for ages for a nice misty/foggy night and the first one that appeared was also on Christmas Eve. So I grabbed my camera, strapped it to the tripod and put the remote flash on a stool behind me in the driveway.Equipment
Canon 450D with a 18-55mm lens on a tripod with the camera set to timer (10secs). Wireless trigger connected to my Canon 480EX II. And my father in laws best splitting axe.Inspiration
I had tried a few weeks before taking a shot in the doorway of a workshop on the farm and was unhappy about the results so had decided to try again on a misty/foggy night. I tried in one location and didn't get an creepy enough feeling so quickly switched to this location and was immediately very happy with the results.Editing
The main problem was that the stool that the flash was resting on was visible so that was my main focus to remove it (or reduce it's influence on the shot). I may have also boosted the contrast when converting it into black and white. In my camera bag
Canon 450D, two lenses and a reflector. The flash used in this shot rarely sees the light of day...!!!!Feedback
If you get a misty/foggy night then take advantage of it. They seem to be few and far between in this part of France, even in Autumn and Winter...!
