Behind The Lens

Location

There is a chain hanging off the roof of one of the out buildings in our temporary accomodation. As the snow melted off the roof, the water dripped down this chain...

Time

Just before the sun had fully set - if you look carefully in the water droplet, you can see the sun right on the horizon...

Lighting

Nothing special, just a normal sunset in the Cantal, France...

Equipment

Canon 450D with a 70-300 lens - the camera was handheld with a nice quick shutter speed to get the silhouette whilst shooting contra-jour...

Inspiration

As I walked past on my way to shut the chickens up for the night, I spotted the constant drip and ran to get my camera...

Editing

None than I can remember, possible adjusted the horizon and maybe altered the contrast but the image is largely straight out of the camera...

In my camera bag

I usually travel light with the Canon 450D, a 50mm lens and a reflector - the zoom lens hardly ever sees the light of the day (or sunset). But it comes out now and again...

Feedback

Nice fast shutter speed and try not to look at the sun...!
