Chosen winner of my Antique Machines challenge. The tones, shadows, and depth of field, give the feeling that this tank is coming out 'alive' out of the past. Great photo.

Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken at the World War I Museum in Kansas City.

Time

i took the photo at about 1pm.

Lighting

The photo was shoot with the light available in the museum.

Equipment

I was using a Canon 70D camera and a Canon zoom lens EF 16-35mm 1:2.8L II USM. I did not use any filters or a tripod.

Inspiration

This tank was one of the reasons that I went to the museum.

Editing

I have started using Intensify Pro. I usually use Seattle, HDR, and Clarity presets. I also did some other adjustments as need.

In my camera bag

I use a Canon 70D and a Canon Rebel T1i cameras. The lens I carry are the ones that came with the cameras, plus a Canon zoom lens EF 16-35mm 1:2.8L II USM; a Canon zoom lens EF-5 10-22mm 1:3.5-4.5 USM; and a Canon zoom lens EF 70-200mm 1:2.8 L IS II USM plus UV and CP filters for each. I carry a tripod and remote for the camera, a pair of binoculars, and a flash light.

Feedback

Go to manual setting and try a variety of timings, focal distance, and ISOs.
