Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in a small community called Dalton Gardens, right next to Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.

Time

It was around 11:30 a.m. as I recall.

Lighting

Natural daylight.

Equipment

I used a Sony Nex-6, 16-55mm lens.

Inspiration

I was trying around in this semi-rural area where the homes are all on one-acre or more lots. Old farm machinery has attracted by eye before, and this somewhat broken-down, old red tractor was a real find. I pulled over, parked and snapped several shots.

Editing

I just used the sharpening and contract features in photos.

In my camera bag

My Sony Nex-6, 14mm, 16-55mm, 50-210mm and fish eye lenses. I also carry extra memory cards and batteries. I have run out of both before! I also carry a bean bag which I use for the stabilization.

Feedback

I like to drive around in compact rural areas, so I'm not really covering much territory. There are so many objects and scenes that call for a quick stop and shoot. Farm machinery, fences, gates, windmills, horses....are all sprinkled over the countryside.
