Happy, happy, happy! Love this shot and love that it's a finalist in the Fungi contest. Congratulations, my favorite Unk. (BTW, truly, yours is the best--if this isn't the winner, somebody's asleep at the wheel.)

Location
I was wondering in the woods across the street from my home, which I like doing on weekends and days off. These little specimens were growing on one of the less frequent trails.Time
It was mid morning and was a nice sunlit day, still there was much shade where these little guys were standing.Lighting
Like I was saying, it was mid morning and sunlit, but with all the oak trees growing in the area, there was a fair amount of shade. I bumped up the ISO to 400, aperture f.8 and 1/100 on the shutter speed.Equipment
I had my Sony SLT A65V with my favorite lens, a Tamron SP Di 90mm 1:2.8 macro lens. I like shooting macro, so the lens is my go to one. Being 90mm I can use it for other types of shoots. For this shot, I laid on the ground with the live view screen tilted back facing me. I wanted to get a good bokeh front and back of the subject.Inspiration
Nature, especially plants get my creative juices flowing, so seeing these mushrooms in my path, I had to take a few shots.Editing
I did take the image to Lightroom, and did a little tweaking for clarity, contrast. Also I played with the sharpening and noise reduction sliders. In my camera bag
Most often my bag has my a65w/Tamron macro lens. In one compartment I have my trusty Minolta AF 50mm 1:1.7 lens, I also have my Minolta Maxxum "beercan" zoom lens. I keep a remote and a tethered shutter release to combat camera shake on certain shots.Feedback
I guess, just keep your eyes opened for what ever my come into view. I think it is important to look up and down where ever you are, because you never know what may come your way just begging to be captured. Always be aware of your surroundings.
