Here in Philippines, the locals would spend a whole afternoon searching for seashells. It's hours and hours of getting something for dinner. The seashells are most available in rocks in their camouflage form, which makes them tricky to find. It takes a skill and sharp eye to find one. In this photo, this woman is almost kneeling down to find some seashells hiding beneath the roots of an old mangroove tree. I asked her if she get back pain from curling down, and said she's been doing it for 10 years. Atleast, her method is nondestructive to the ecosystem, and her hardwork and dedication are unparalalled. I often see her every sunset and sunrise searching for seashells and sell it to the market, and feed some for her family. This mangrove forest is not just a sanctuary for birds and marine lives, but also a source of livelihood for the locals. This beauty needs to be preserved than reclaiming them to build structures and resorts which the tourism industry in the Philippines is notorious for. Hope this photo gives you a glimpse of real beauty and culture in my lovely province called Bohol.
