Location
This photo was taken in Buffalo, Niagara Falls. It was a one day quick stop over during my trip in the US to visit the falls.Time
It was almost 5pm by the time I reached the falls. I had time to walk around and take the boat tour around the falls first. I think it was around 8pm when I took this shot.Lighting
I knew there was a lights display in the evening and night from a previous visit here. I specifically waited for the light display to take the photo.Equipment
This was shot with a Canon EOS M, with EOS M 11-22mm f/4-56 lenses, and a gorillapod mounted on the railings at the falls.Inspiration
I wanted to take a dreamy waterfall look with the vibrant colours from the light show.Editing
I do my post-processing on Lightroom, where I have my own customised presets for landscape photos. I still tweak a little after applying the presets as it doesn't work the same for all photos due to the type of photos and lighting conditions. In my camera bag
I like to travel light, so I'll normally bring along my Canon EOS M, and 3 lens. I'll also bring along a tripod for long exposure shots and a 10-stop ND filter if I want to take daytime long exposure shots.Feedback
Landscape photography requires lots of patience. Be prepared to spend a few hours at the same spot waiting for the right conditions for that perfect shot.
