Location
This picture was taken in a country village along and old water channel which I have watched the Barn Owls for several years.Time
This was late afternoon as the sun was setting giving a warm feeling to the image.Lighting
I always believe in light makes the subject and a low sunset gives a nice warm orange glow to the image.Equipment
Canon 1DX, Canon 600mm F4 IS, Canon 1.4ii extender, hand held hiding amongst the grass.Inspiration
I have followed the Owls for several years and the way they hunt so slow and majestic always sends a chill down my spine and you always remember every experience.Editing
The post processing is kept to a minimal in Lightroom slight exposure and highlight adjustment of around 10 and +3 on colour and that's it done.In my camera bag
I always have my 1DX 600mm F4 and extender, I have a 7D 100-400 spare in a bag, gitzo carbon fibre tripod with wimberley head mk2, remote controls if I decide to use a remote camera.Feedback
Study your subject and the light where it will be at what time and you can't go wrong photography is the easy part the behaviour of your subject is the hard part.
