Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo in a workshop. I asked the model to stretch and bend. The results exceeded by expectations...

Time

It was in a studio so time of day does not matter too much. None the less, this was taken in late morning on a Saturday.

Lighting

The lighting and the pose are everything in this picture. You can see from the picture that the light was above and to the right of her.

Equipment

Sony A99 with 24-70mm lens. Studio flash.

Inspiration

I wanted to make a more interesting picture than what is usually done. As the lighting was set for bodyscape I asked the model to stretch, hoping for a better result.

Editing

Main post-processing was conversion from color to black and white using Nik Silver Effect Pro (a wonderful program). Minor cropping.

In my camera bag

Normally I carry my camera, a spare specialized lens, pocket wizards and some cleaning gear and batteries.

Feedback

Work with the model. She probably has a lot more experience than you. Show her your captures, let her understand what you are trying to do. Get her feedback. And if you promise her pictures, deliver them quickly!
