Location
I drove 20 minutes to the coast to a place not many visit, just some fishermen. I'm lucky to have such great places near home.Time
It was a great sunset, although the sky was not so great that day, the light was really fantastic on those rocks.Lighting
The sunset light gave an orange look to the sky and highlighted a lot the textures on the rocks.Equipment
I used my Nikon D750 with the Nikkor 20 mm f/1.8. I also used the polarizer filter to remove some shine on the rocks and a 4 stops medium GND to darken a bit the sky.Inspiration
I visit this place from time to time, as it is not a busy place, the waves crash on those rocks making a terrific noise that reminds you the power of the sea, that's what I was looking for.Editing
I made some basic adjustments in Lightroom and then in Photoshop I made some dodge and burning to enhance a bit the scene. In my camera bag
Apart from the D750 and the 24-70mm lens, I usually have with me a 20mm f1.8 lens and a 16-35mm f4 from Nikkor , and a little collection of filters (10 stops and 6 stops ND filters, 4 stops medium GND and 3 stops soft GND). I always have with me a little torch as I usually end shooting really close to the night and also a power bank for my phone, not a good thing to have a dying battery when you are out and alone.Feedback
Keep trying and revisiting the places you shot before, each day is different and you never know what you will be able to capture.
