Location
This is in the Cathedral Basilica in St. Louis, MO.Time
It was in the afternoon, so there was a good amount of sunlight coming in through the windows.Lighting
I hadn't really noticed at the time, but the interior lighting enhances and accentuates the colors and designs.Equipment
This was taken with a Canon Rebel XT and a Tamron 17-50mm lens.Inspiration
If you've never been to this cathedral, it's almost hard to take a bad shot! The mosaics, colors and designs are everywhere and all beautiful. I chose this particular shot because of the brilliance of color and balance of elements.Editing
I didn't need much, just a bit of sharpening. The lighting conditions inside are so good that most cameras will produce good results. In my camera bag
I have since upgraded to a Canon 5DMkIV and a Tamron G2 24-70 lens. I also carry a Canon 70-300 and a Tamron 90mm macro lens, as well as a circular polarizing filter for the G2.Feedback
Churches in general and cathedrals in particular can have many excellent photo opportunities. At this location, I did have to wait several minutes for people to move out of the way of the shot.
