Location
This photo was taken on the campus of Texas A&M University. I was part of a group taking some students for a campus visit.Time
The picture was taken about 9AM in the morning.Lighting
The lighting is all natural. I really like how the sunlight bounced off the the structure.Equipment
I had my Canon Power Shot SX410IS Camera on me. I was using mine to train a couple of my photojournalism students on how to use the camera (the school had just purchased two, and this was the first on the field use of them).Inspiration
The ring structure is a key component of the Texas A&M University campus. It plays heavily in the history and tradition of the school. Being so important to the University, and how the sunlight was playing off of the structure, were on my mind as I took the shot.Editing
I thought about doing some post-processing, but decided against it. I like the photo as is/In my camera bag
I keep my Canon Power Shot with me at all times as that is what we use for the classes I teach. I'm hoping to add another camera to my bag in the near future as finances allow for it. I keep a tripod close by as well.Feedback
Never be reticent in taking a picture. If you like it, take it. Keep a camera handy always, for there is always something interesting around the next corner to shoot. Most of all, have fun with what you are doing. Photography is a joyful adventure.
