Location
The photo was taken on the rocky edges of a beach in a small fishing village in the South Eastern region of Murcia in SpainTime
I remember it took a while to get the shot i wanted as i sat on the rocks for a couple of hours around sunset as i waited for the clouds in the distance to make their way over... im glad i waited thoughLighting
i wanted to draw peoples focus to the centre of the picture where the sun was setting so aligned the rocks to form what looks like an arrow pointing directly at the sun and the horizon. I also went for long exposure so i could create the misty feel of the sea and the slight movement and direction of the clouds towards the sun as well.Equipment
This was shot with my Canon EOS 600D with an EF-S10-18mm Canon lens using my trusty Manfrotto tripod due to the long exposure and my camera remote to reduce any shake.Inspiration
I love this location! The sun sets in a great position just over the town and the hills in the distance creating a great silhouette, whilst the sea pushing up against the rocks adds some great atmosphereEditing
I have added a bit of vignetting to add some more atmosphere along with the misty sea and to really push that focus to the middle of the picture... everything is making your eyes look to the centreIn my camera bag
My bags fairly packed, i usually travel with my Canon EOS 600D with a few lenses. (EF-S10-18mm/EF-S 18-55/EF-S 55-250) . Ill also carry my lens cleaning kit, some filters (namely ND filters), a torch, camera charging units, portable phone charger, camera remote and my Manfrotto tripod.Feedback
Make sure you plan ahead, but do not get disheartened if you don't get the shot you want. I regularly visit the same locations numerous times trying to get all the pieces together to make the shot im really looking for... so be patient and it will happen
