Location
I took this photo at the Karlsplatz in Munich, Germany. Nobody calls this place by its official name, everybody calls this place Stachus (the name of a pub which was located there before the place was built).Time
I was waiting with some coworkers for an evening event that was planned after work. It was about 6pm in June. When I looked around I saw these interesting silhouettes in front of the fountain. As I didn't have my 'real' camera with me (I was on a business trip), I grabbed my phone and took a quick picture.Lighting
It was just a spontaneous snapshot when I saw that perfect backlight on the people sitting around the fountain, nothing planned.Equipment
Just my business mobile phone (iPhone SE), nothing else.Inspiration
I like these strong contrasts, so when I saw this scene, I just captured the moment.Editing
The original color image had already a very strong contrast, so I didn't have to change much. I just converted the picture to black and white to further emphasisze light and shadows. In my camera bag
When I plan to take pictures (and have the possibility to take my camera bag with me), I use an Olympus E-M1 Mk. II with a bunch of lenses (from 7 to 200 mm). As I have too many lenses to take with me all the time, I select the lenses to carry with me based on the occasion.Feedback
You newer know when a great subject appears in front of you, so you better always have a camera at hand. Luckily, nowadays even smartphone cameras are good enough to deliver great pictures...
