I currently have a challenge for rainbows and this would be a great addition to it. Slow turnout so far.

Location
This image was made from highway #21 between the town of Maple Creek, Saskatchewan and the Cypress Hills Provincial Park that lies south of the town.Time
It was early evening just after a sudden rainstorm passed through the area.Lighting
The lighting has the wonderful warm tone of evening light and enhanced some from the rainstorm that had just passed through.Equipment
Used a Nikon 7000, handheld, with 18-200mm zoom lens.Inspiration
The rainbow, although only partial, stood out against the dark storm clouds. A second but much fainter rainbow was to the left of the main rainbow and cropped out of the final image.Editing
Image is pretty well as it was seen. Probably bumped up contrast somewhat to enhance rainbow colors. In my camera bag
Nikon gear mainly; have also a lightweight compact point-and-shoot Olympus that has 300mm capability.Feedback
You have to have your camera with you at all times if you expect to catch fleeting moments such as this. There may be similar pictures you'll come across in the future but it will never ever be the way you saw it the first time.
