Old Lawson's Railway Bridge - Ballyaghran Point
Having done some research i believe this old Railway Bridge was created back in the late 1800s to help transport stone from a small basalt quarry called Carnanee on the Portstewart side across the River Bann to Ballyaghran Point which was used to build two moles.
These two large mōlēs (Latin for a Large Mass) stretch from the River Bann out to what we know as the Barmouth which opens out into the Atlantic Ocean.
Many thanks and happy viewing
