Location
I captured this image at Black bayou national wildlife refuge in Louisiana.Time
It was mid summer, the days were long. It was around 7PM I suppose.Lighting
It was just before dusk, the light was bit soft. I think that is the best part in this image. the light is uniform and soft.Equipment
Canon 6D and Tamron 150 - 600 lens (Hand held)Inspiration
This is probably my favorite image because i pre visualize this scene and executed exactly i wanted to be. I watched a deer herd crossing the railway track a week before i made this image. I visualize in mind to capture a deer on railway track. Deer is a only mammal in this refuge wanted to be very unique frame. I visited everyday after office and waited in my car to get this shot. finally after a week, I saw a deer herd grazing near railway track. I was in right place on right time. One deer just crossed the railway track and luckily gave a one head turn.Editing
Yes, I do post processing. I adjusted the contrast, white and black, highlights and shadow in camera raw and color correction and sharpness in photoshop. In my camera bag
Canon 6D ( for Landscape and Mammals) Canon 7D mark ii (Normally i use for birds and macro) Tamron 150 - 600 (for all wildlife) Canon 100mm non IS non USM (for macro) Canon 24 - 105 ( for wide angle and landscape) Rokinon 14mm (Landscape & Night photography)Feedback
from the above points, one thing I learnt, probably this is the first time I executed. pre visualize the shots and plan accordingly. it is not an advice but a lesson for myself.
