Project 52 - Week 35 (September 4, 2016)
Cherry Beach was originally named Clarke Beach Park after Harry Clarke, a Toronto alderman who was responsible for creating the park in the early 1930s. In 2003, the city changed it to Cherry Beach which is the local common name.
Since as far back as the 1950s, the isolated area had a notorious history. Stories have circulated about police officers escorting perps on after-hours rides to this stretch of underpopulated area to mete out rough justice with the business end of a billy club and leaving them down there sometimes without their clothes.
In the end, Torontoist (the name of a newspaper) was unable to authenticate, or disprove, this disturbing urban legend.
It is now a nice place to swim, windsurf, kite surf or walk.

This is such a lovely capture and your edit suits it so well!!! Just like a timeless painting Cher. I love that boathouse - haven't heard anyone mention Cherry Beach for years, it really looks lovely!
