Location
This was taken at night at the Ventura County Fair. They had fireworks going off every night so I lined up where the fireworks happened and with the Farris Wheel.Time
This was after the sun had gone down.Lighting
Had lots of light coming off all the displays of the fair but this still was a long exposure so I could get the exposure right.Equipment
My camera was a Nikon D800 and I had a Sigma 24-105 f/4 lens on the camera. I was also using a Manfrotto tripod. No flash was used.Inspiration
I have always loved shooting at night as it is a challenge that I like to face. This particular shot was taken with my camera club and we wanted to capture the motion of the rides. I saw that one with fireworks might be a special shot. So I set up and took a few shots with fireworks and this one was the one I liked best.Editing
Post-processing was done in LightRoom and just minor adjustments were done. Dropped the highlights a bit and brought up the shadows. Not much else was done.In my camera bag
I have several bags but today I use a belt that carries my cleaning supplies and spare batteries, and 3 other lenses. My Tamron 150-600, Tamron 10-24 and my Nikkor 105 macro. I have straps to carries up to two cameras as well.Feedback
Two things first. Get out and try to find things to photograph every day and second enjoy the process. This particular shot is, get out at night at a fair or another event. Then try as many things as you can think of and experiment.
