I took this one evening about a year ago in the fields of Limestone County, Alabama.

Behind The Lens

Location

In my apartment

Time

It was late at night, I used lamps to get the light I wanted, no flash.

Lighting

I used lamps. It was indoors at night and a flash was no good for this shot, I didnt want to blind my cat lol.

Equipment

I used a Canon EOS Rebel T6i with a Canon 100mm Macro L series lens. No tripod it was handheld and manual focus.

Inspiration

Well I love my cat and I love eye shots, I wanted to capture the beauty of a cats constricted pupil and iris.

Editing

I edited it in Photoshop raw editior and then in photoshop.

In my camera bag

A Canon 5d Mark III is my usual camera, this time I went with the lighter weighted Rebel T6i. Usually carry a Canon 24-105mmL and a Canon 50mm f/1.4 and a Canon 35mm f/2.0.

Feedback

Be patient. It took many tries to get the subject to cooperate lol.
