I took the Photo in Bournemouth in the UK. It was at a special macro wildlife photography day.Time
It was set in a studio first thing in the morning. Using a green backdrop.Lighting
The lighting was set up in a studio. Using a flash trigger to use the studio lights.Equipment
I used a Nikon D3100 with a 50 to 250mm lens. With wildlife I seldom use a tripod as you need to move and anticipate what the animal will do next.Inspiration
I have a passion for wildlife and in particular animals. I have always travelled the world trying to find wildlife in its natural environment. Although sometimes if you want to capture something really special you need to go to places life reptile photography days.Editing
I use lightroom. I tend not to spend to much time on my photos. I feel that the way you shoot it tells a story. Adding or enhancing an image takes away from the art of capturing a moment in time and something special which you really appreciate. I do know that using photoshop and other platforms is an art in itself although I prefer to keep the photo as genuine as the setting I took the image. In my camera bag
I have a number of lenses, my camera, batteries and a load of SD cards.Feedback
I would look at macro days or if you really are a fan of macro maybe look to keep a few animals as pets. To take the shot its about reading the animal and telling a story. The eye is the most important thing and making sure that you are at the same height as the animal or lower to create a powerful image.
