The Sumatran tiger is a really beautiful cat, its colouring is amazing, its stripes are the most vivid of all the tiger species it is also the smallest of them. They are in danger of becoming extinct. More then half of the remaining tigers in this species live outside of protective areas and as forests are cut down and humans encroach on these areas the tiger population will reach crisis point.
