Congratulations on winning "Musical Moments" Challenge! It was a very difficult choice, but my husband who is also a musician helped me choose and we agreed that this one was exceptional!

Location
This Shot was taken on Royal Street, in the French Quarter of New Orleans. Some of my first real attempts to take Photography seriously was on that trip.Time
It was Early evening, There was a severe downpour just minutes before.Lighting
That night Had this Magical feel about it, the dusk time, I think it was within 2 hours of sunset, put the right amount of emotion in the moment... Add the clearing of the Air with the passing Storm, it gave this feel about the night. the lighting was perfect.Equipment
This was simply Shot with a Nikon Coolpix P500. Very basic point and shoot, Before I saved up for better equipment.Inspiration
The night had just Started, I was walking alone through the streets, enjoying the smells of the fresh rain as a spring deluge had just finished Blowing Through the French Quarter... The streets were still empty as everyone had sought Shelter from the storm.... Except for him. The silence of the Quarter, only broken by the sounds of music... His Music. The Solitary Street Musician, who played because he needed to. I fell in love with him. This is truly, The Spirit of New Orleans.Editing
Because it was taken with a simple Point and shoot, the Noise was pretty extensive. I had to clean up some of that noise, Sharpening him, and the Brickwork behind him, ending with adding the Irregular Dark Vignette that repeated the Arch of the window to pull your eye into the actor in the play.In my camera bag
I have a huge bag, a full Backpack it always feels like I'm a soldier hiking with full gear on. With that pack, I always bring my Nikkor 55-300mm, my Nikkor 200-500mm, and my "go to" lens Nikkor 14-24 Ultra wide lens, (How I love that lens!) Add the Lee Little and Big Stoppers, the Hard ND Grad 3 stops filters, the 4-5 back up batteries, Lens cleaners and cloths, extra Memory cards, I'm usually good to go for anything.Feedback
Carry your camera with you everywhere. Magic moments happen every day, if you just look for them. This one, was my first magical moment, and will always be me favorite. Do not be afraid to photograph with anything. its the message, not the tool that matters.
