thank you for giving us a title and location. As a frequent traveler I feel this is important both as information and because photos like yours help people like me choose new destinations

Location
This photo was taken at a small loch in Scotland called Loch Rusky near Aberfoyle.Time
This was taken at dawn after leaving home during the night to drive to the location hoping for some misty conditions and of course some nice light. It was during summer so sunrise was at 5.30am!Lighting
All natural light just waiting for the right moment for the light to highlight the boats and the clouds in the sky.Equipment
Canon 1D X with a 24-70mm lens on a Gitzo tripod - don't think I used any filters for this particular imageInspiration
I have seen some amazing images from this location from a fellow photographer, David Mould and thought I would pay this loch a visit on this particular occasionEditing
Processing of the RAW file in Lightroom and then dodging and burning select parts of the image for contrastIn my camera bag
My 1D X and 24-70 is used for the vast majority of images and almost all my images are taken on a tripodFeedback
Just make the effort to get up early and visit such locations - some times it is about just being in the right place at the right time
