Location
This photo was taken at the Usher Hall in Edinburgh, which is a concert venue. They were kind enough to allow access during a quiet day to photograph inside the venue.Time
This was taken mid afternoon although is lit entirely but the inside lighting. There is a ceiling window right at the top but is obscured at this angle.Lighting
It is entirely standard lighting at the venue and I have just taken a standard exposure without any additional lighting.Equipment
It was shot on a Canon 1D X with an 11-24 EF lens at 11mm on a tripod inches off the ground to get low enough to get the whole angle in.Inspiration
I have seen pictures of this staircase before from above and from a lower side angle but not from this angle so it was my take on this location. I knew an extreme wide angle would be required so spend some time trying to get different angles of this staircase.Editing
A bit of straightening, levels and contrast. I also warmed the white balance during the RAW processing stage. In my camera bag
I usually carry my main body and lens (on this occasion the 24-70 and 11-24) and always my tripod. 99% of my shots are taken with the tripod and I also carry a bunch of filters with me although none were used in this case.Feedback
I would recommend a visit to the Usher Hall as the staff are very friendly and accommodating but make sure you arrange a visit in advance and for a quiet day.
