Location
This was shot indoors. I was on a leave, with nothing to do, i thought of experimenting with some indoor photographyTime
It was taken some where in the afternoon but under some controlled lighting.Lighting
i let the natural light filter through the window on the flowers. Without flash, i had to slow the shutter speed to about 13 sec.Equipment
Had to use a tripod to get the slow shutter speed without flash. I used a Tamron 18 - 200mm lens at ~100mm to get the blurred background. Along with these, i also experimented with the canon application for windows and connected my laptop with the camera. I controlled the camera parameters from the laptop so as not to disturb the camera position.Inspiration
I always wanted to do some indoor photography but i lack the setup. This was a nice opportunity as i was at home in the afternoon and there was ample filtered light to my liking.Editing
I usually tweak the pictures a bit in Picasa. Increasing the colour saturation a bit and playing with the brightness and contrast. The real difference(according to me) which post processing brought to the image was the use of cinemascope lines on top and bottom. It changed the whole viewpoint. In my camera bag
I usually hate carrying a camera bag. I just take along the camera in my hand with a tamron 18 - 200mm lens mounted on it. I love macro photography so if i carry a camera bag, i have a set of extension tubes and a set of magnifying rings. Not to mention, a tripodFeedback
I am no expert in photography but i feel one should use a sturdy tripod and try using the natural light to their advantage.
