Subtitled, "This is gonna hurt". Love the shot as Steer Wrestlers are just a different breed altogether. Wonderful focus, incredibly timed!

Location
At the Hamilton Rodeo, Tasmania, Australia.Time
At 10 past 2 in the afternoon.Lighting
The sky had a thin filtering layer of cloud that softened the harsh shadows.Equipment
I used my Pentax K10D with a Pentax 100mm macro f2.8 lens. 100 iso, at f2.8 and 1/500th sec exposure.Inspiration
I wanted to capture some action and after getting some successful shots the year before we just had to return to take some more.Editing
I did some minor post production. Cropped in a bit and auto levels in photoshop, some colour correction with NIK Colour EFex.In my camera bag
As this was taken in 2010 I have now upgraded to a Pentax K3, I also have a back up camera my Pentax K5 for when I am doing Weddings. The main lenses in my bag are the Pentax 50-135mm f2.8, Sigma 28-70mm f 2.8, Sigma 10-20mm, Pentax 50mm f1.4, Sigma 150-500mm. Metz 50 Flash, Cable Release, Lee system Filters grad ND and ND, Lee ND400, B&W ND400. Manfrotto 055XPROBFeedback
Find a spot where you can get a clear view of the action with little background clutter. Get you exposure setting right before hand with a fast shutter speed to catch the action, aperture wide open, f 2.8 in this case. Have the camera on motor drive and continuous auto focus. Pan with the action and fire off a few shots when you feel the real action is beginning.
