I took this in my back yard to utilize the green grass as a background and have the photo back lit.Time
It was late in the afternoon so the sun was low and filtered through the trees.Lighting
I used the low sunlight filtered through the trees to get the background glow around the tip of the plastic wrap and exposed for the water droplets.Equipment
I used a Pentax K10D combined with my Pentax 100mm Macro Lens. Hand held.Inspiration
I bought my wife some flowers. As I took them in to her I noticed the water droplets on the plastic wrapping. An image appeared in my mind I had to capture. She is a photographer also and understood when I bypassed her saying "These are for you but I have to take a photo first!" I grabbed my camera and Macro lens and went out the back door. I Knew in my mind how I wanted the photo to look. The green plastic flower wrap against a green background, and back lit, with the water droplets the main focus. Flowers in one hand and camera in the other, I created the image I had in my mind. My wife was then very pleased with the flowers I presented to her.Editing
I did very little post processing. It only involved cropping, levels and contrast adjustment.In my camera bag
I no longer use my Pentax K10D. I currently use my new Pentax K1 which never stops amazing me with it's low noise at high iso and the in body stabilization system that now allows me to capture low light images at shutter speeds as slow as 1/4th sec , when using a Tripod isn't possible. The first thing I do before taking any photo is to see in my mind what the final photo will look like. Then I create the position for best and appropriate use of the light, and think about what settings will best produce the image I want. Then I take the photo and make adjustments when necessary.
