Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo on a abandoned Italian military site after a very long drive in the mountains. We drove a few hours to this location because our gps send us a couple of times in the wrong way,so luckely we where just in time to capture a few great shots like this!

Time

This whas taken on 22 july 2014 at 8.43 PM

Lighting

Well its al natural light in here offcourse,but i can tell you that i set my camera to spotmetering for this image. And my settings where: F2.8 ISO 100 and shutter 1/320. If i remember correctly my lightmeter whas on -2.

Equipment

I used my Canon 6D with the great Canon 16-35 F2.8L II

Inspiration

In first instance we where there to shoot some very big sattelite dishes (a picture of those dishes can be found on my profile),but the lighr over the mountains whas so great that i took alot more landscape pictures. And because i'm not a landscape photographer this is 1 of the few landscapes i ever photographed,so this finalist award means alot to me!

Editing

Yes afcourse i used a little bit of post processing,even the best photographers use post processing in their pictures! What i did mostly is playing with the colors a little bit and alot of dodge and burn.

In my camera bag

For exploring i have always my Canon 6D in my bag with 2 lenses,the Canon 16-35 F2.8L II and the 50mm F1.2L and a Coman carbon fibre tripod. And for modelpictures i use also my 6D with the Canon 85mm F1.2L and the 50mm F1.2L.

Feedback

I'm not a landscape photographer so i dont think that i can give u really good advice about it. The only thing is go out and explore alot. It dont have be far away from youre home,i be sure that there are some amazing things to photograph in youre hometown! Grts Ronald
