Location
I took this photo in the tundra close to a small village in the North of Norway, during a Polar Winter.Time
It looks night right? But actually was around 4 in the afternoon. In the North during Winter the sunlight is present only for a few hours a day.Lighting
In this picture I wanted recreate the same light there were in that moment. The full moon was really bright and the white snow on the ground was reflecting that light so intense that I didn't need any light to go out and walk in the tundra.Equipment
I used a Nikon D300 on a tripod with a Nikon 16-85mm f3.5/5.6Inspiration
I just went out and start walking I was sure that the place was giving me some inspiration.Editing
No, any post-processing. I was there, alone, no rush. I took all the time I needed to set the camera and do test to have the best result. In my camera bag
Right now I have a Nikon D750, a 28-300mm f3.5-5.6, a Nikon 300mm f2.8 vrII, a teleconverter 2X and a tripod. It's everything I own!Feedback
In that part of Norway during the winter is hard, always dark and the temperature are really low. I burned the skin of my hands because of the cold. But it wort, over there there is no sound at all, no cars, no birds, nothing. There are no big trees and the way the snow amplify the moon light is amazing. Plus this you can also see the Northern light! If you have the possibility is an experience to try.
