Spinellus fusiger, commonly known as the bonnet mold, is a species of fungus in the Zygomycota phylum. It is a pin mold that is characterized by erect sporangiophores that are simple in structure, brown or yellowish-brown in color, and with branched aerial filaments that bear the zygospores.

I took this photo in August 2022 at Kiser Lake State Park and had never seen a fungus as a parasite on another fungus (mushroom). It was an eye opener for me.
